Since December 3rd,2013, the embassy of Cameroon in Spain and Edith Mbella Gallery are pleased to introduce you the exhibition “Cameroon”.
The purpose of this exhibition is to demonstrate the ancestral art of this country considered as an analogy of Africa in miniature for its great diversity of landscape similar to the continent. Its population is made up of more than 100 ethnic groups that contribute to its great cultural heritage.
More than 30 artworks are presented: there are mainly figures, rituals masks and objects of power associated to the great courtly art.
The photographer José Ramón Bas with his series “Mukalo” about his trip through Cameroon realized in 2006 establishes a link between Spain and Cameroon.
